RV Renew Repair
RV delamination is the separation of layers in a laminated wall or exterior panel. It often appears as bubbling, waves or areas where the fiberglass skin no longer feels bonded to the structure beneath it. Water intrusion is a common contributor, so the cause must be identified before the wall is restored.
RV sidewall bubbling and visible separation
Bubbles, ripples or raised sections in a fiberglass sidewall can indicate that the outer skin and underlying layers are no longer bonded correctly. The visible area does not always show the full extent of the separation.
Fiberglass separation and laminated wall repair
Laminated RV walls combine multiple materials into one panel. Repair may involve opening the affected area, correcting damaged substrate or framing, restoring the bond and refinishing the exterior depending on the construction and severity of the damage.
Water intrusion behind delaminated walls
Leaks around roofs, windows, trim, corner moldings and exterior penetrations can feed moisture into laminated walls. If water intrusion is still active, repairing only the bubble will not solve the underlying problem.
Why delamination repair often needs a full repair facility
Laminated-wall work can require controlled access, disassembly, structural repair, bonding, curing and finish work. Those steps are often better suited to a shop environment than a quick mobile repair.
